About

UJJAY makes medicine music: tribal, organic electronic sound that moves between ceremony space and dancefloor, woven from mantras, natural instrumentation and an ongoing relationship with the Yawanawá of Acre, Brazil.

The craft runs two decades deep. His love of music was sparked by his rave-culture parents, and he has been behind decks since secondary school. He was previously signed to Yousef’s Circus Recordings as BROADHURST, before committing fully to this sound. Through Awaken, the events brand he founded, he brings his own audience with him: a following built on gatherings, not algorithms.

Imagine you’re standing in the middle of the jungle, naked, and you start to hear pumping music. You lose yourself to it, right there in the moment. That’s me.

The Yawanawá

Ongoing work with the Yawanawá of Aldeia Yawarani, on the Rio Gregório in Acre, Brazil, including the musician Yawã Vay and Yawa Wanu, who lives and works with the community.

Amelia Yawanawá joined him on stage at Soul Revolution Festival in 2026, and Yawanawá music was part of his 2024 set there. In October 2026 he travels the other way, to perform in the village by direct invitation, at Vivência Festival.
